A Few Hours "Without Men"

Back in March, I  created my ISP - Individualized Socialization Plan.  Part of the plan was to coordinate time with girlfriends.  As a working mom constantly juggling therapies, appointments, family time, cooking and laundry - it's rare that I get a few guilt free hours to myself.  So when approached with the opportunity to see one of the films featured in the Maya Indie Series.  I took it.

I called up a girlfriend and asked her to join me to see Without Men, a film based on the novel, Tale from the Town of Widows written by James Canon.   As a fan of the novel, I was excited to see the film.

Now, I'm a firm believer in: The Book is Always Better.   And Without Men is no exception.

That being said, Without Men is a lighthearted sexy fun film for a Sunday afternoon with a girlfriend.  We laughed out loud, elbowed each other at one liners and nodded our head in amusement and agreement.  It is the kind of movie to be enjoyed without the company of men.  And as much as I love The Husband and The Boy, it was nice to have the break.

When was the last time you went out with a girlfriend?  Went to the movie?  Went out for coffee or dinner?

Take yourself out.   Go see a movie.

In addition to Without Men, there are six other films featured in the Maya Indie Series:

All She Can
Forged
Blue Eyes
DiDi Hollywood
Where The Road meets The Sun
Sympathy for Delicious

The Maya Indie Series will continue through mid August in NY, LA, San Diego, San Antonio, Chicago, Dallas and Miami.

I was provided with complimentary tickets to the film, the opinions expressed are my own.
